Alex’s Guardian uses Your Personal data to provide and improve our services. By using any service rendered by Alex’s Guardian, You agree to the collection and use of your information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

The words of which the initial letter is capitalized have meanings defined under the following conditions. The following definitions shall have the same meaning regardless of whether they appear in singular or in plural.

For the purposes of this Privacy Policy:

  • Account means a unique account created for You to access our Service or parts of our Service.
  • Company (referred to as either “the Company”, “We”, “Us” or “Our” in this Agreement) refers to Alex’s Guardian.

  • Device means any device that can access the Service such as a computer, a cellphone or a digital tablet.
  • Invoice Management Software means the software we use to store client information when they request a quote or become a client.
  • Loaner Program refers to our program where users can borrow equipment, currently available only to local community members in need.
  • Personal Data is any information that relates to an identified or identifiable individual.
  • Service refers to any services owned or operated by Alex’s Guardian.
  • Service Provider means any natural or legal person who processes the data on behalf of the Company. It refers to third-party companies or individuals employed by the Company to facilitate the Service, to provide the Service on behalf of the Company, to perform services related to the Service or to assist the Company in analyzing how the Service is used.
  • Usage Data refers to data collected automatically by Third Parties and or The Company
  • Website refers to Alex’s Guardian, accessible from https://alexsguardian.net
  • WISP Software refers to our hosted Wireless Internet Service Provider software, accessible from https://uisp.alexsguardian.net/crm/login.
  • You means the individual accessing or using the Service, or the company, or other legal entity on behalf of which such individual is accessing or using the Service, as applicable.
  • The Blog refers to Alex’s (The CEO) blog which may or may not contain Company information in posts. Accessible from https://blog.alexsguardian.net
  • Third Parties refers to services used by The Company that automatically collects data.

Collecting and Using Your Personal Data

Types of Data Collected

Personal Data

While using Our Service, The Company may ask You to provide The Company with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify You. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:

  • Name
  • Email address
  • Phone number
  • Company or Organization name
  • Job title
  • Physical Address

Usage Data

The Company uses Google Analytics to track Service performance. Subject to Google’s Privacy Policy.

Contact Form Submissions & Email Communications

If you submit information through our contact form, your data is stored via Google and Formspark’s servers. The Company uses Cloudflare Turnstile to protect our contact form from spam and automated submissions. Messages submitted through the contact form are relayed via Formspark. Automated emails sent from The Company to You are relayed via Brevo (Sendinblue SAS). All information is subject to their respective privacy policies.

The contact form collects your name, email address, phone number (optional), company name (optional), job title (optional), and message content.

Client and Quote Information

If you become a client or request a quote, your information is stored in our Invoice Management Software. This information typically includes contact details, service requirements, and billing information necessary to provide our services.

WISP Services

If you use WISP Services from The Company, your information is stored in our hosted WISP software for contact purposes, service management, and billing. This may include your name, address, contact information, service details, and payment information.

The Company self-hosts the WISP software (UISP by Ubiquiti Networks) on The Company owned servers, and The Company is directly responsible for the collection, storage, and processing of all personal data entered into this system. While the software is developed by Ubiquiti Networks, they do not have access to the personal data you provide to us through our self-hosted installation.

For information about the WISP software itself, you may refer to Ubiquiti’s privacy policy at https://www.ui.com/legal/privacypolicy/, though please note that their policy applies primarily to their cloud services and not to our self-hosted implementation.

Payment Processing

If you make payments to us electronically (rather than by cash or check), payment processing is handled through third-party payment processors PayPal and/or Stripe. When you make a payment, your payment information is collected and processed directly by these providers. The Company does not store your complete payment information on our servers.

These payment processors may collect additional information beyond what The Company collects, according to their respective privacy policies:

Loaner Program

If you use the loaner program, your contact information is stored until your program contract ends. This includes information necessary to track loaned equipment and maintain communication throughout the duration of the loan.

Tracking Technologies and Cookies

The Company uses Cookies and similar tracking technologies to track the activity on Our Service and store certain information. Tracking technologies used are short links, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze Our Service. The technologies The Company uses may include:

  • Cookies or Browser Cookies. A cookie is a small file placed on Your Device. Some parts of our Service require cookies to be stored on Your Device. If You have adjusted Your browser settings so that it will refuse Cookies, our Service may not function as intended.
  • Short Links. The Company may use short links in our communications to track clicks and measure the effectiveness of our campaigns. These links may redirect through a tracking service before reaching the final destination. Currently, The Company hosts a short link service and does not sell or disclose click data to Third Parties or Affiliates.

Cookies can be “Persistent” or “Session” Cookies. Persistent Cookies remain on Your personal computer or mobile device when You go offline, while Session Cookies are deleted as soon as You close Your web browser.

  • With Service Providers: The Company may share Your personal information with Service Providers in order to render services requested by You.
  • With Affiliates: The Company may share Your information with Our affiliates to render services requested by You. In which case The Company will require those affiliates to honor this Privacy Policy.
  • With business partners: The Company may share Your information with Our business partners to render services requested by You.
  • With other users: when You share personal information or otherwise interact in the public areas with other users, such information may be viewed by all users and may be publicly distributed outside. Such as posting comments on The Blog.
  • With Your consent: The Company may disclose Your personal information for any other purpose with Your prior consent.

Retention of Your Personal Data

The Company will retain Your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. The Company will retain and use Your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if The Company is required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

For clients using our WISP services, The Company retains your data for the duration of service plus any period required by applicable laws and regulations.

For loaner program participants, The Company retains your data until the end of your program contract, after which it will be securely deleted unless retention is required by law.

Transfer of Your Personal Data

Your information, including Personal Data, is processed at the Company’s operating offices and in any other places where the parties involved in the processing are located. It means that this information may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside Your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from Your jurisdiction.

Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by Your submission of such information represents Your agreement to that transfer.

The Company will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that Your data is treated securely and in accordance with this Privacy Policy and no transfer of Your Personal Data will take place to an organization or a country unless there are adequate controls in place including the security of Your data and other personal information. You will also be notified before this occurs.

Delete Your Personal Data

You have the right to delete or request that The Company assist in deleting the Personal Data that The Company have collected about You.

Our Service may give You the ability to delete certain information about You from within the Service.

You may update, amend, or delete Your information at any time by signing in to Your Account, if you have one, and visiting the account settings section that allows you to manage Your personal information. You may also contact Us to request access to, correct, or delete any personal information that You have provided to Us.

Business Transactions

While The Company strives to use commercially acceptable means to protect Your Personal Data, The Company cannot guarantee its absolute security.

Children’s Online Privacy Act (COPPA)

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 13. The Company does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 13 without verifiable parental consent. In compliance with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):

The Company primarily operates in the United States and our services are intended for users located in the United States. The Company does not actively market to or focus our services on individuals outside the United States.

  • The Company do not specifically target or provide services to individuals covered by the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) or similar international privacy frameworks

While The Company makes reasonable efforts to protect all users’ data, The Company does not make specific accommodations for international privacy regulations such as GDPR for users outside our service area.
